4.1 - Preparation of the catamaran: the verification of its good functioning conditions is a task of the team
       * Before choosing a Catamaran check on the register if it is in good conditions
            * status of the float gear, the rudders cams locking, the audio chariot, the shrouds, the trapeze cables, the trampoline, the bar and the totality of the topsides in general.
            * take a very particular attention to the broken rings of the shrouds turnbuckles.
            * presence of hull plugs.
            * presence of the “ressalage” end.
            * each boat must imperatively leave carrying its sails kit:  n° on the hull = n° on the sails.
            * equipment taken care of: rods in their reinforcement gussets and  slightly hoisted to obtain a hollow on the sail.
            * take the safety vest and the trapeze harness.
            * use sailing slippers or tennis shoes.
            * register the departure and return time on the table used for the motor boats.
       * The rigging and unrigging of the boats must be done imperatively on the beach.
4.2 – When navigating:
          * the wind and the waves might rise and get stronger quickly, in particular in the afternoon when the thermal winds rise. It is advisable to sale together with various catamarans.
          * the tides uncover the elevations on the large extensions: in case of stranding get out of the catamaran and push it, the wind ahead to the nearest channel
          * at each arrival to the beach, run the sheets, take the rudder blades, block them in the high position and place the catamaran wind ahead.

4.3 – Return to the club:
          * dismantle the big sail on the beach, expand the rods
          * unscrew the plugs, empty the hulls
          * clean the catamaran, tackles, sheets and any topsides with freshwater
          * the washed sails will be dried and than rolled from the header to the boom, and stored at their numbered place.
          * repair the damaged material and, if it is not possible, due to lack of time or knowledge, register on the logbook the malfunctioning and inform the head of the section.

5 - NAVIGATION AREAS – WATER PLAN - WEATHER

For your own safety respect these instructions; they comprise:

*the navigation areas are posted up at the club.
*the interdictions to navigate in the areas close to military installations: avoid with no vacillation to approach the forbidden areas where the authorities do not hesitate in intervening.
* the dangers inherent to the bay: the bar, the flows, the low-tide elevations.
* the weather can change very quickly et surprise you with violent wind and strong waves. In general there is little wind in the morning but the wind usually gets stronger in the afternoon due to the effect of the thermal wind. Do not forget this when you are sailing far from the club.
* avoid being out of the sight of the club after 5 pm, the wind can fall and the strong flows of the bay can make it difficult for you to arrive at the club before dark.
* the absence of any "official surveillance" on the water plan. The boats of the club will certainly intervene if necessary (capsized boat, for example), but under the condition of being within the club’s "sight".
* for all other areas, your safety will depend on the good will of the boats that possibly pass at the spot. Think of it, before sailing too far, no one is free of a "crack" and, therefore, it is advisable to sail together with several catamarans.
* it is advised to bring along a mobile phone in a waterproof bag attached to the mast.

6 – MAINTENANCE OF THE CATAMARANS

No personnel of the club Corimba is affected to this maintenance. All users are responsible for the status of the material and of the section. You will agree that you will need to dedicate some nice moments for the seamanship and do-it-yourself jobs ….around a quick-lunch.
The maintenance sessions will be organized to sensitize the members:
* Repair or replacement of default fittings
* Control of the glass fiber, resin, mastic, finishing gel coat … for the hulls repair.
Register all malfunctioning on the maintenance log book. Do not think on avoiding a labor by "forgetting" to inform about a problem on the return from a trip …. anything will eventually get known …. and, above all, this will avoid to spoil the day of the following user who might oversee or be not able to repair. Participating in this works will allow you to better comprehend the design of your catamarans and understand the hidden technicalities. It is always possible to better navigate when you know well your boat.

                        * control of a flow when we are in the front.
                        * how to pass to the front.
